Bugger. It's so humid. Where's that rain when you need it?
Got the parents' dog over for the weekend and I love her, but walking her in this weather is something that I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

One of the cats is being so cute with her though. He really has no problems with the dog staying over whatsoever. When she first arrived, he walked straight up to her and he's even trying to play with her now. He's not even put off by the fact that the dog isn't that keen on playing with him! He just keeps trying.
His brother though...now that's another story. That cat is so incredibly pissed off that the dog is staying over and has already attacked her twice for no reason other than that the dog was in his way.

This should be fun come September because then she'll be staying over for a couple of weeks while my parents and my brother go to Canada.

Babysitting my parent's dog, Hanna, this weekend.
She's been here for over two hours now and the cats haven't attacked her yet. So far so good. Kaede/Stumpy would prefer it if she just didn't move at all because whenever she does and comes too close to him, his tail puffs up. Asra/Adolf is a lot more tolerant and doesn't seem to mind her much at all which is probably because all that he cares about is food.

I've got treats at the ready and they've all gotten some already, the cats the most of course since it is their house (I'm allowed to live here because I feed them basically). Anyway, Hanna is asleep now and Asra is watching her. Most likely he's wondering when the visitor is going to get fed and how much he can manage to swipe...

I was on my way home from work today when I spotted a stork that was walking around in a field. I've seen a stork once before, so that was pretty unique.

And just now a black cat that lives about 4 doors down just walked by on the railing of my balcony. My cats went insane, so I stepped outside and he actually jumped off and started exploring my balcony. I petted him and then he jumped back up on the railing again and headed back.

I think I'll have to go knock on their door tomorrow. It looked like they'd barricaded their balcony, but it's obviously not working.

He's doing just fine and is back to his normal whiney self. The fact that I am now weighing his food and making sure that he gets the exact ammount that he needs in a day is somewhat taxing for him, but he'll get there in the end. Maybe he'll finally lose some weight because of this which is a nice bonus.

And I watched Insomnia today which is something that I can relate to, because I've been having some trouble sleeping lately. Not as bad as in the movie though where Al Pacino's character hasn't been able to sleep for 6 days.

6 days...that's gotta be annoying...

Apparently the lord was not content with me having just one cat with a urinary infection. No, I have to have two.

Great.

But at least he's fine now. That's what's important.

A while back I bought this hammock sort of thing (but then again not really like a hammock) which I can hang on the radiator and it's a huge hit with my cats.

They try to chase each other off of it and have even tried to sleep on it together, but since one of them is huge (well, fat more like), they can't do that.
on to the cat pics )
