Ignore the title. I'm watching the second series of QI and that was one of the jokes.

For starters...WHERE THE BLOODY HELL WAS MORGANA?! At least she'll be getting more coverage in the next episode (speaking of which OMG! MORDRED!), but this was just ridiculous!

And why do people hate Arthur and Gwen so much anyway? I think that they're just adorable. At least he doesn't act like a complete git when he's around her...well, ok, so he did at first, but he changed!

What sort of annoys me about the haters is that it's not like we all didn't know who Arthur was going to end up with so I have no clue why some people don't get why Arthur isn't trying to shag Morgana (I know that I have an Arthur/Morgana icon *points to icon* but I don't view them in that way).
I'm actually glad that Gwen doesn't appear to be swooning all over Merlin since I always preferred them as friends. I like non-swoony Gwen a lot more. The writing regarding her person has definitely gone up.

ANYWAY...the kiss was especially sweet. I hope that there will be more where that came from, but Arthur's comment near the ending kind of suggests that there won't be any time soon.

I sort of figure that Lancelot showing up again will make Arthur not only jealous, but maybe even a little bit possessive of Gwen. Anyone else think that that might happen?

MERLIN!

It was brilliant! What a great start of a new series.

Merlin versus Cedric before he turned into the bird man was hilarious. Gwen saving Arthur and being all dorky about it afterwards was cute. Upset Merlin because ~~his boyfriend had broken up with him~~ Arthur had replaced him with a better model was a bit sad, but they got back together in the end. Merlin back with the Great Dragon was also a massive YAY! moment for me. That's probably got a lot to do with John Hurt's voice ;)
Not enough Morgana, but I can live with that because we got not one, but two gratuitous shirtless Arthur shots. Believe me when I say that it was very nice.

The Secrets and Magic special on BBC3 afterwards was great as well and I hope that there's going to be a behind the scenes special every week like the Doctor Who Confidential series.

Colin and Bradley are dorks...in a good way though! There was a scene where Colin and Richard Wilson were being interviewed by a French man and then Bradley just turns the hand-held camera to himself and goes "I have no idea what that man is saying". And Colin and Bradley doing what appeared to be a sing-a-long to whatever one of them was playing on their iPod is also worth a mention ^_^
Angel Coulby does appear to be a lot like Gwen. Katie compared Morgana to a black widow which was something that I thought was very fitting.

Still...best thing about that special? King Uther with a Nintendo DS XD

Also, Colin Morgan has the best accent ever. I just sort of assumed that the way that he talks in Merlin is his normal speaking voice, but it isn't. Gotta love an Irish accent in a man.

I can't wait for the next episode!

Under The Hood

Had a nice little Watchmen marathon today in which I watched the movie, Tales of the Black Freighter, Under The Hood and a couple of other specials that were on the dvds. If you get the chance, then seriously, buy the Black Freighter dvd just to complete the entire experience, it's so worth it.

But here's the thing...I've seen both the director's cut and the normal version and I just cannot understand why the death of Hollis Mason isn't in the normal version and why that totally awkward Dan/Laurie sex-scene is.
To me, it doesn't make any sense to even have it in there, because the one before that worked well enough for me (where she straddles him and he makes the cutest little surprised sound ever). So why there even had to keep this pretty graphic sex scene (for an American movie! I've seen worse ones) in there that just screams Neo and Trinity doing it to loud dance music that the Wachowski brothers felt that they had to throw into Matrix 2.
Zack Snyder could easily have lost that scene and just left the death of the first Nite Owl in the movie, because no one wants to see Laurie pressing a button which makes Archie (the name of his ship) spew fire that symbolises male ejaculation.
See, I didn't mind it in the graphic novel...but in the movie...ah well.

And I'm still slightly miffed that the "I did the right thing in the end, didn't I?" wasn't in the movie, because I love that conversation, but that's only a very minor thing in my eyes.
I kinda miss the confrontation between Laurie and Eddie as well. The entire lead up to Laurie finally putting two and two together in the book and getting all these flashbacks was amazing, but it would have taken loads of extra time and I can understand that that was something that they did not have. No one wants to sit in a movie theatre for over three hours.

For a graphic novel that was deemed unfilmable by so many, Zack Snyder did a damn good job. And another hurrah to him for thinking that Tales of the Black Freighter was absolutely crucial to the Watchmen universe, because he was right dammit!

Now I know why I started liking True Blood...it's because Ryan Kwanten walks around half naked for nearly two entire episodes. His character, Jason, is introduced to the audience whilst he is giving a random woman oral sex. He just has sex for most of the time that he's on screen.

How could I possibly object to that?

Oh, and the awesomeness that is Tara definitely helped getting me hooked as well.

~~I'm already opposed to uncle Marty because he played Aaron Echolls in Veronica Mars and~~ Ignore that. He's already dead! I love the sheriff because he played Ellsworth in Deadwood.
But woohoo. Half naked Christopher Gorham in the first episode. Nice.

Also, we're getting a channel that is going to air True Blood so no more downloading the episodes from internet! I'll be getting my Eric Northman fix weekly now! YAY! Shame that he's not in the first couple of episodes...I shall have to be patient...

And more good news in the form of dvds. Pre-ordered Watchmen (yes, it's not available here yet and yes I know, the country that I live in is retarded) and I'm getting Tales of the Black Freighter free with my order. Cannot wait to see that since it sort of completes the entire Watchmen experience ^_^

Just finished my Merlin re-watch. Missed a couple of episodes the first time round and never saw the last three episodes so I'm all caught up with everything in time for the new series!
I'd forgotten how much I loved the Mordred episode by the way and all that I can say is...silly me. Always liked Mordred. I'll always like those dark horses. But since I'm such a big Excalibur fan, I kept thinking that Morgana was his mum...
And during the Sir Tristan a.k.a. the Black Knight episode, I kept saying "Just a flesh wound" and "What are you going to do? Bleed on me?" and then I'd start to laugh uncontrollably.

In other news, I got a new fridge! My grandparents have bought a new one and they've given me their old one! HUZZAH! It's a lot bigger than my old one and because of that, it also looks more empty...but at least I've got more space for fridge magnets now!

I was sickly and bored a few days ago so I decided to get out my Gameboy Advance again. After playing a load of old games like Mario and Zelda again, I started playing the ultimate RPG game in my honest opinion, Golden Sun, and picked up where I left one of my old saved games...and now I can't put the fucking thing down anymore...

So basically, damn you Camelot Software for making my thumbs all achy.

And now I've read that there will be a new Golden Sun game on the Gameboy DS next year. I will have to buy a DS now. I will die if I don't get to play that game...
