Baby Face

So next Monday is going to be my last day at my current job and I'm not looking forward to that at all, but I'm happy for the work experience that I got there. It's another thing that I can add to my CV at the least.

But I've gotten a couple of people asking me "So what are you going to do now? Going back to school?"

See, some people there actually thought that I was an intern. Apparently I look that young.
When I reply by saying "No, I haven't been to school for about ten years", I get "How old are you then?" "29" "..."

Yes, I look more like I'm in my early 20s then like someone who will turn 30 next year. I still think that it is highly amusing because I get that all the time. Someone who I've known for years thought that I was 19 when I was actually 26.

When I'll hit my 40s, I'll no doubt be ecstatic over this fact. If people still think that I'm 8 years younger than I actually am by that time that is.

People still ask if I'm in school and I turned 40 this year. Granted, the people who usually ask are in their 80s so their vision may not be too keen. And, I work at a university-owned museum. And, there are "non-traditional" (i.e., older) students around. But, I take it the way I want to...that I MUST look like I am in my mid-20s! And, I smile.

Oh I get this too! Sometimes I get people who are my age will give me advice (or take on this adult pose with me) because they think I am a school kid. I don't correct them though sometimes! It's nice that people this that since I'm in my twenties!

While I think that it sucks that it's ending, I'm convinced that I'll find something else soon enough. There's still work out there.

I know exactly what you mean! The other day this guy asked me why I wasn't in school (bloomin cheek!) and I was like well.. I'm not in school anymore... He assumed I had finished school this summer. And a guy asked me if I was over 12 the other day. I had hoped I looked at least 16!

People keep saying I'll be happy later but I'm not seeing it yet! The job was a great experience, keep thinking upbeat about it and you'll be fine :D

If you were over 12?! Ok...you do look young, but not that young. If I wouldn't have known your age, I would have thought that you were 17 or 18.
I can imagine that you're not too happy about it now by the way! You'll be 21 soon right? Having someone ask you if you're over 12 is just bad...

I think I look my age (29 also), but I have been ID'd for cigarettes a few times. Hopefully I'll age well then.

If people have asked your ID a couple of times, I'm going to say yes, you definitely age well ;)
